REACH - The Regional Extension Center for HIT

The Regional Extension Center for HIT is a non-profit federal health information technology regional extension center. Its purpose is to help providers in clinics, small hospitals and other settings in ND and MN implement and use EHRs. REACH Update - November 2010

Over the intervening three months, REACH staff has been recruiting eligible health care providers to take advantage of federal discounts for EHR services through REACH. The next two months (November and December) are significant in REACH’s recruiting/contracting effort because, under REACH’s current agreement with the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC), all new REACH contracts need to be initiated before December 31 to receive the deeply discounted rates. Personal Health Records (PHR)

AHIMA's website, myPHR.com, is a one-stop resource for information on personal health records.  Why are PHR's important?  There are many reasons why maintaining a PHR is very important.  A PHR can:

  • be a very effective tool for communicating your health care history with a variety of providers
  • eliminate duplicate or unnessary tests
  • provide information to health care providers while you are traveling
  • keep track of vaccinations and medication changes.

AHIMA ACE Program

AHIMA develops new program to identify leaders in the HIM profession

ACE, the Action Community for e-HIM Excellence is a new program from AHIMA. The ACE Challenge mobilizes a network of experts and change agents. It identifies, prepares, engages, mentors, and recognizes those working to transform HIM practice.

ACE members match their skills and interests with volunteer and career-building opportunities. They form a preferred pool of experts and a network of peers transforming HIM. It is through mentoring, writing, speaking, and testifying for AHIMA and the Component State Associations that ACE members share their e-HIM expertise and accelerate change. ACE members attain personal recognition and acknowledgment by peers, employers, and the healthcare industry.

NDHIMA's Mission
