Welcome to NDHIMA

Thank you for visiting the North Dakota Health Information Management Association (NDHIMA).  As the membership organization of health information management professionals, NDHIMA fosters the professional development of its members through education, representation, and lifelong learning. These commitments promote quality health information for the benefit of the public, healthcare consumers, providers, and other users of clinical data. NDHIMA is a component association of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

AHIMA is a global nonprofit association of health information (HI) professionals with more than 71,000 members and more than 100,000 credentials in the field. The AHIMA mission of empowering people to impact health drives our members and credentialed HI professionals to ensure that health information is accurate, complete, and available to patients and providers. Our leaders work at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and business and are found in data integrity and information privacy job functions worldwide.

Petition Regarding New CCHIIM Requirements

Several Component Associations have developed a petition to allow our members to oppose the new CCHIIM requirement that 40% of continuing education credit must be obtained from AHIMA.

Credentialed HI professionals will have through March 31st to complete the petition. This deadline was chosen so that we would have ample time to have follow-up discussions with AHIMA and CCHIIM before the changes go into effect.
